Welcome to the official website of the MesoLife International Conference, which will be held at Selva di Cadore (Belluno, Italy) from 11th to 14th June 2014.
The mission of MesoLife is to provide a platform for researchers, academics as well as other professionals working on the Mesolithic of the Alps and the neighbouring territories to present their research results. In this perspective the Alps represent the core of a larger area spacing between the Atlantic ocean, the Mediterranean see and Danube basin. The conference is thus aimed at highlighting the adaptations of Mesolithic hunter-gatherers to different environments both on a regional and a diachronic perspective.
The conference will be structured in various sessions focused on Mesolithic lifeways in different geographic, cultural and ecologic contexts.
We aim to combine scientific activities with the opportunity to meet the gorgeous surroundings of Selva di Cadore, a village in the heart of the Dolomites. The event will be held in the new-built Museum “Vittorino Cazzetta” of Selva di Cadore. The conference tours will take us to the famous Mesolithic site of Mondeval de Sora and to the Mesolithic sites of Passo Stalle/Staller Sattel.
The official language of the conference is English. Authors are invited to submit abstracts according to the proposed deadlines.
